Access Control and Presence Systems

The access control system is that security system that allows us to limit access to a specific area or space to maintain it.

On the other hand, the presence control system is focused on controlling the presence of people at work, the arrival time, the departure time, the number of hours worked, vacations, medical absences, etc. Reports are generally generated for human resources.

Most common types of Access Control and Presence System

Biometrics: They are the ones that work by reading the physical features of each person, making identity theft almost impossible. These systems can be used for both access and presence control. The most common are:

  • Fingerprint: the fingerprint reader detects different biometric points of the fingerprint that allow the user to be identified and grant him access to authorized areas or determine his presence in the workplace.
  • Facial recognition: This technology uses different biometric points on the user's face in order to verify their identification. As there is no contact with the reader, it is considered very hygienic.
  • Cards: In many places the use of the fingerprint is not recommended, that is why key rings or cards are used to identify the user.

Numeric password: there are also those that work by entering a password directly on the reader's keyboard.
